Christmas!!! all year long!!

Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland started from unpretentious beginnings, hurriedly growing through more than a few expansions to become the World’s Largest Christmas Store with stunningly remodeled grounds casing 27 acres.  For initiator Wally Bronner, the excursion has always been about CHRIST, and “decorating hearts with peace and love.”  Wally was a long-lasting fixture in Bronner’s, working only on days “that end in ‘Y’” as he always said. His warm smile and colorful jokes brought JOY to all he met. That legacy is still passed on to the millions of guests who experience Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland each year since his passing in 2008.
Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland is world known for having Christmas 361 days a year! Number of television shows and programs has recorded the beauty that is Bronner. Everything you need for Christmas you can find there. The store is so big every shopper is giving a map so they would not get lost. I love the story! No matter what time of year it is, but when you walk in the store you are hit with the holiday spirit. Strollers and wheelchairs are available (there are no electric scooters, but feel free to bring your own). Sorry, but due to health department guidelines with their snack area, pets are not allowed in the store (service animals welcome).

Dune Riding in Michigan

Mac Wood’s Dune Rides are one of the great summer activities in Michigan. I went to the dune rides every summer for an orthodox 3 years. I love every solitary time. The ride is great to do if you have a group of children or a group of adults. The dune rides started in 1930 by a man named Mac Wood. According to Mac Wood’s Dune Ride website, the first dune car was model after the model A Ford and only held 4 riders at a time. Now, they use a 4 wheel drive amended automobile with 4 aircraft tires to help carry about 20 persons per ride. Thousands of people ride each season! Currently, they have a history museum to tell you all about the beginning years of Mac Wood and the dune ride plus old signs that were once use on the sand dune route. There is also a lighthouse on the sand dunes called. The lighthouse is 115 feet tall and one of the tallest working lighthouse on Lake Michigan. It has been in practice since 1874 and also has a public beach. The lighthouse is now open for tours.
When you come to Michigan, you have to go to Mac Wood’s Dune rides. It’s a wonderful experience and truly gets to see the true and natural beauty of the state. It’s not that many places in the mid-west where people can say I went sand dune riding. I could go on and on about how wonderful, delightful, perfect vacation activity for you to do here, but why would I tell you when you can come to Michigan and see for yourself.
