Top Jewel in the Crown of Chinese Food

Shangri-La can be called the crown jewel of authentic Chinese food in Midtown Detroit. And I don't doubt that for a bit. I have been dining in this best-kept secret for a year now, and I must say it's quite an experience. It’s a food revolution for many who enter their doors. There is not a restaurant in the Midtown area that could give people especially college students the milieu and food experience with sensible pricing.   And for those of you searching for a culinary experience like no other in the theme of Chinese cuisine, look no further than Shangri-La.

Shangri-La is located 4710 Cass Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48201. It’s sheltered amid the historical buildings and Wayne State University’s campus, Shangri-La is the creation of Cholada Chan.  Genuine Cantonese cuisine is what they’re bringing to the Midtown area.

The restaurant is located in a rather unassuming location that’s quite easy to miss. However, the interior will remind visitors of a modern, Hipster meets true, original Chinese restaurant. The decor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine, though beauty isn’t the only thing bringing patrons to Shangri-La. Shangri-La have a fully stocked bar. The bar is located at the heart of the restaurant; with its blue lights accent underneath the bar is wonderful to see at night. The restaurant buzzed with excited energy and was happily full with outwardly satisfied patrons.

Though I would love to be selfish and keep Shangri-La all to myself, the restaurant standing among the masses is already at the top of the charts, but it’s too good to stay hidden for long from people looking for authentic Chinese food in the “Motor City”. There’s no doubt a table Shangri-La has quickly became the hottest reservation in town.
