This is a new feature here on A word with Jhonzalee. I will post at least once a week a new part of the story. The day has started, yet I'm mentally still asleep. I got out of the bed slowly, so I can give my mind time to catch up with my body. It's been that way ever since I found out that I was pregnant 5 months ago.  I am jumping ahead of myself, so Let me start from the beginning.  My name is Lora Madison yet I go by Zara Moon. I'm your typical young adult living in the big city. I love to go out with my friends. If I am not out with my friends, I am in my small apartment. I love to be at home and enjoy my own space. I do have a boyfriend, but I love being by myself. My boyfriend Mikey is super sweet and loving, yet He always working. I always spend time by myself anyway.
 One day while I was out getting take out, I ran into this guy who calls himself T -Moon. I couldn't stop looking at him. I don't know what it was about him, could it be his light gray eyes, beautiful long dark hair, or his handsome smile? We talked while we waited for our respective orders. I felt like I was being pulled towards him. Once his order was done he slipped me this small piece of paper that had nothing on it. I just put it in my purse and smiled. I grabbed my order and went home. I just knew I wouldn't see T-Moon again…. I was so wrong.  Three days later I just got home from a date with my boyfriend, but I couldn't enjoy myself all I could do was think about T-Moon. I sat on my bed and search through my purse for the piece of paper he gave me, but I couldn't find it. As I started to feel sad and upset about losing the piece of paper, my phone rings with no number on the caller ID. I answer the phone thinking maybe my phone was broken.
    "Hello Lora Darling," The male voice said
    "Mikey?" I answered
    "No? Meet me at 21179 Main Street in 20 minutes." He said.
    "I'm a half hour away!!" I yelled
    "20 minutes Darling," He said as he hung up.
I was shocked cause I was actually getting ready to meet a stranger at a random house. I plug the address into my GPS and started on my way. I don't know if I was super lucky, but I got green lights the whole way there and it seemed that no one was on the expressway. I pulled up to the address and it was a regular house no differ from any house on the street. I walked up to the door fixing my lipstick when the door opened on its own. I walked in, yet I wasn't afraid. I walked straight to the back of the house. I open the door to the most beautiful room I had ever seen. Then T-Moon showed up from an unknown location. He looked more handsome than he did when I first saw him. He had on a red and black smoking jacket with black pants with his hair going down to the middle of his back.
    "Told you Darling 20 minutes." He said to me as he called me to him.
    "Yes you did," I said smiling walking towards him.
    "You are beautiful and I have not stop thinking about you since we meet. You will be mine. Tonight is the night you will understand true love and love making" He whispered to me as he embraced me. With every touch, I fell more in love with this total stranger. He couldn't keep his hands off me which is something I am not used to. He kept looking into my eyes. He looked into my eyes with power, sensitive, and love. He caresses my chin and leaned into my lips. That was the most powerful kiss I had ever experience.
     "Are you ready my love?" T-Moon whispered to me
     "Yes" I nodded
He led me over to an area of the room that for some reason I didn't notice when I had first come into the room. It was a fancy Victorian style bed with blood red bedding. I didn't even notice that I was completely naked. We laid on the bed kissing passionately when he rolled me on top. It felt like it was my first time all over again, but it was far from it. I felt him growing inside me yet no movement was happening, but the feeling was there. I couldn't keep my hands to myself, and T-Moon has a strong grab on my wrist as he pinned me down and kissed on my necked as he filled my body with his essence. Our sweat mixes as it was mixing on our bodies and bed sheets. As we continued to make steamy and passionate love, the sun started to come up. The roomed started to spin, the room filled with smoke, my body started to shake uncontrollably, and an electrical shock ran through my body. When I finally was able to come to my senses again, I realize the house I was in was an empty house and I was laid out on a blanket on the floor. I grab my clothes and purse praying that I still had a car when I went outside. I found a note inside my car and it was from T-Moon.
  "Lora, Darling, last night was the best of my life. You are now mine and I am yours. One day I will tell you my whole truth, yet until then I will keep in touch with you by phone. Signed your Loving Husband T-Moon"
Did he just say, husband, because I have a boyfriend so I can't have a husband, right? As I sat in my car and realized that I'm almost late for work. I rushed to work before I would be late. The whole day I couldn't do anything but think about the mind-blowing sex I had the night before.  After work I'm sitting in my car outside my apartment, my mind keeps replaying the night before and I couldn't stop it and to be honest, I really don't want it to stop. I go inside to make my dinner and try to relax. I ate and took a long hot bubble bath while I was drying myself off my phone rings.
    "Darling, I miss you. I will be home in 20 minutes. Be ready to receive me, my love." T-Moon swoon on the phone.
    "Wait! You do not know where I live. What's the big deal with you and 20 minutes?" I asked.
    "You mean our home Darling. It only takes 20 minutes to get to your lover's side." He told me.  He hung up before I could say anything. I was shocked that he knew where I lived, but at the same time, I can't wait to see him. I just met him, yet I fell in love with him. I ran and put on my sexiest lingerie I own. Just like he said 20 minutes on the dot he was standing in my house at the door.
    "Hello Darling, you miss me?" He said looking at me seductively.
    "Hi?" I said not sure what to really say to him. He looked at me with the moon shining in his eyes. He looked more handsome than the last time I saw him. He pulled me into a kiss. He started rubbing my back going down to my butt, and he started to kiss on my neck and biting on my ear. Before I could let my body fall into its own pleasure, He whispers to me "It's time my love." He grabbed my hand and lead me into my bedroom. He was so tender with me and time stopped. I didn't think it could happen but the sex was better than before. He kept whispering through our whole time together that he loved me. Once again the room filled up with smoke, the room was spinning, and my bed started to shake. I couldn't even focus on his face. I woke up naked on my bedroom floor. I couldn't figure out how I end up on the floor. I looked around and I couldn't find a trace of T-Moon anywhere. I looked at the clock and it was after one in the morning. I sat on my bed and just couldn't help the feeling of this was right and this is what I was missing in my life. I took a shower and walked into my kitchen wrapped in my towel, and I saw a letter from T-Moon on my fridge and it stated:
     "Lora, darling, I fixed you something for you to eat and I placed it in the fridge. Tonight you were more relax and aggressive, and I loved it so I know you will need your strength for today. I will see you soon my loving wife. Sign your loving Husband"

I open the fridge and saw this great plate of food. It was a salad, a steak, and baked potato, yet I do not know how he cooked the food because I had none of the items in my fridge nor did I smell any food cooking. I warmed up the food and sat down to eat when my boyfriend Mikey called me.
    "Lora? Are you ok?" Mikey asked
    "Yes, baby" I answered.
    ‘What's been going on with you lately? You have been acting weird. Can I come over?" He asked.
    "Sure," I said as I hung up. I don't know what he could want. Mikey comes to my apartment and hugged me and gave me a big kiss. It was like when we first met. I couldn't help it because I was feeling super sexual. I lead him into the bedroom and started to have sex with my boyfriend, yet in the back of my mind I felt like T-Moon was watching me and was mad that I was cheating on him, but he's not my husband for real, right?

 Two months had passed and every day the same thing happen. T-Moon would come over to my place and we would have the world melting sex and then he would be gone once I woke up. I looked at my phone and saw my mensural tracker popped up a message that it's been 60 days since my last period and I need to make a doctor appointment. I thought nothing of it because I had a period but just forgotten to plug it into my phone, well I hope that's the case. I went on as usual for the rest of the day until I notice it was five in the morning and I have not heard from T-Moon. That's not to him at all, and I have to say I'm a little concern about him. I called the last number he called me from yet it was disconnected. All of sudden I got feverishly hot, and the room was spinning around me and I didn't know where all this is coming from. I fell to my knees praying that I don't die this way. Three days later I woke in a cold white room. I looked around me to try to figure out where I could be.
     "Good Afternoon Ms. Madison, I see you finally woke up." A woman said to me.
    "Who are you? Where am I ?" I asked her. She looked at me with these crazy green eyes.  I thought maybe I had said something wrong.
   "Ms. Madison you are in the hospital. You have been here for three days now, " she told me. I guess she saw the worry in my eyes then she said: "Don't worry, it was a little shaky, but the baby is ok now." I could have passed out again. I can't believe what I heard. "I'm pregnant? How can this be? I didn't know." She just passed me on the back and walked out the door. I can't believe it as I held my stomach. I always wanted to be a mother just thought it would happen after I was married and own my own business. No one can know this and I mean no one. I called the nurse back into the room. I ask her to make sure no one knew about this baby. I wanted to be the first person to tell T-Moon.  I don't even know if he would be happy to hear a baby. I'm so worried, and would Mikey say about all this. I guess I have to tell Mikey about me, T-Moon and now the baby. I can't believe my life has turned out this way in just a few months. After three weeks in the hospital, I was sent home. I'm happy I had a lot of personal and vacation days at work.  The whole time I was in the hospital T-Moon would visit me at night. He never told me why he only came after the sun went down. He was super excited about the baby, but because we were not married he couldn't tell his family about us and the baby. Now that I was home he still shows up and takes very good care of me and the baby.
 After a week of being at home from the hospital, T-Moon came over like usual, yet he was more serious. "Lora Darling, I can not be seen with this baby. My family is very old fashion and will not be understanding since we are not married in their eyes. With all of that said, you must allow Mike to believe that the child is his own and allow him to raise it until we are married. " He said to me like a teacher telling her class they have a large report due. I couldn't believe my ears. "How can you say that? This is YOUR CHILD!!!! How can you just give our baby and me to another man? I thought you love me." I said through my tears. He just stood there with his eyes locked on to me. He held my face in his hand and gave me a soft kiss on my forehead. "My love, I know you upset and I am too, but we have to keep a level head. I am only saying to allow this to happen for the safety of our child and you. As soon as I can I will marry you and we will be a family as the universe has planned us to be. I must go back to my motherland and handle some business with my family and I will be back and it will be when I come and bring you and the baby back to meet my family and make you my bride." He said as he kissed my belly and walked out the door. I had so many emotions going through my head and heart. I can't believe I'm seven months pregnant and losing the love of my life and father of my child. Now, what happen to get me into this mess is all I could think as I continue to look at my front door. I can't believe this is happening to me now of all the times and moments it could of happen, but it chose to pick now. I had a good life before I met him, and now my whole life is turned upside down. I been home this whole time and never told Mikey that I was with child, yet I don't think I want to tell him about the baby. Now I have no choice.

 I just stayed in my bed for a few days not because the doctors told me to take it easy yet because of how upset I was with my baby's father I wanted to make sure nothing did not happen to my child. Mikey has been very supportive towards me. I been lying and telling him that I sprang my ankle and couldn't get up. I know you may be thinking how did he not see my growing belly? While easy I hide it behind pillows, doors, counters, and anything else I could use. I'm just not ready to tell him what's going on, but I know soon I'm going to have to tell him. For now, I'm just going to sit back and accept his help now cause once he finds out I do not get this help again. I still cannot believe I am with a child as I looked at my 27-week belly. Yes, I'm seven months along at this point. I forgot to tell you all that when I was in the hospital I was already five months going on six months. I guess that is why I am still in shock over this baby. How come no one told me that I am I getting bigger or I just did not look the same as I have in the past. This is just so much for me to take in, and I just want to wake up from this nightmare.

DJ Eric DA King is an up and coming DJ from Detroit, Michigan. He attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School. After few years of attending Wayne State University, his passion for music exploded into his love of Djing. He is a DJ full of energy, fun, and waiting for the track to drop. DJ Eric DA King wants to spread his love for music and having a great time among the masses. 1.    When did you fall in love with music?

 When I was little. Music was always around me as I grew up. One of the many reasons I enjoy old school music.

2.    What’s your favorite genre of music to play? And why?

I like to play Hip Hop and Techno. I like the hard base of many Hip Hop songs and I like the different styles and sounds of Techno and plus Techno was made in Detroit.

3.    Who would you say is your biggest influence? And why?

My biggest influence is my girlfriend. She was the one to motivate me to go into Djing. Also DJ Bet helped me by showing me the ropes on what kind of gear I need as a DJ, and DJ Head also showed me all the basic skills and knowledge I need to help me on my journey as a DJ.

4.    Do you believe growing up in Detroit gives you a different style of Djing? And what would you call your style?

Yes, I do, and since I’m still young in the DJ game I would say my style is still evolving and changing every day, so as of right now I say my style is like a Transformer.

5.    What is the most important thing or person that keeps you moving forward when you have a bad day or performance? And how does it help you?

I always remind myself that there is a new day coming, and to just focus on improving my craft. It helps me not to live in the past.

6.    Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself owning my own entertainment company, and helping other up and coming DJ just like I had other DJ to help me. I see myself touring and performing for thousands at a time.

7.    Where do you go to get motivation and what do you once you get there?

I have a small quiet place at home that I go to, and I just put my headphones on and let the music take me away.

8.    What is your go to song when you are Djing to get the crowed rocking? And why is this your go to song?

Cha Cha slide has been my go to song lately, yet my style is always changing so for right now that is my go to song.

9.    If you could eternally be stuck in one year's music scene, which year would it be?

I would choose late 80’s or early 90’s because everything was like powerful and had a movement. We celebrated our culture, and they had messages in the music that still stands today. Plus, there was great story telling in the music.

10. What is one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you hear it?

It would be Detroit’s Jit songs. I can never get tired of those songs.

11. What is one track that got popular that you can't stand?

Beyoncé’s song “If I was a Boy” would be that track for me. I don’t like those type of songs because it does not make sense to me.

12. What festivals would you most like to play at?

Detroit’s Techno fest because Detroit started techno and It is one biggest festivals in the city. I also want to play for River Days in Detroit.

13.  Before you go, how did you get your name “DJ Eric DA King” and do it have a special meaning to you?

My first name is Eric, and I went to Martin Luther King Jr High School and I am a Leo which Lions are known as “The King of the Jungle”. Yes, it does have a special meaning to me. When I hear my name it makes me feel like royalty.

Interview that is so Rhare

It’s that time of the year again, the snow melting, rain pouring, and potholes growing. Yes everyone, spring is back in Detroit. Along with the season, the fashion scene is changing. It seems the more you look around, the more it seems that everyone is wearing the same thing as the next person. I have to tell you as a woman that is the biggest fear to show up wearing the same outfit as another woman. Living in an urban city full of music and art, it’s hard to find something rare and unique. I found a place where you can find that classic look.

It’s called Rhare Footage Clothing Co. It is a classic urban clothing store. I went to their website and feel in love with a two of their pieces which was their “he loves me ” and “build Detroit tough” shirts. The prices are reasonable and the color selection I really like. 1.   When did your clothing line start?

March 2013

2.   What is the name of your clothing line, and how did you come up with that name?

Rhare Footage.  I’ve been thinking of clothing ideas for years, I met with artist, graphic designers, and more artist and I never clicked with them until I met my partner Titus Johnson he took my idea of having a Rhare line to always give the consumer something different and together we built "Rhare Footage" I always try to get exclusive shoes and I want my own exclusive clothing so rhare footage is rhare lol.

3.   What inspire you when it comes to fashion?

SHOES. Shoes is my favorite part of all outfits I feel like shoes could make the dullest outfit the most extravagant in the building. Ex. black Levis plain black tee? Anybody can do that, but add some "when pigs can fly" Nike dunks to it and you have a totally different outfit!

4.   How would you describe your clothing line in one word?

RHARE

5.   Where can people find and buy your clothing line?

6.   Who do you make clothes for? (women, men, children)

Men and women, and as of the summer of 2014 children as well.

7.   Do you think growing up in Detroit influence your clothing line?

I’m Built Detroit Tough so yes.

8.   Which celebrity style do you relate to, or inspire your personal style?

Teyana Taylor as random as that might be.

9.   What’s the inspiration behind your clothing line?

I’m inspired by competition I thrive off it.

10.    Do you think you are ahead of the fashion trends? why or why not?

I feel that my line is Classic/Timeless so it will always stay in style and will never be considered a trend.

11.    Would you say your clothing line is a rebel when it comes to the rules of fashion, or do you play by the rules?

I’d say it rebels because my clothing line doesn't have a face, you can't look at rhare footage and say that’s for white people or black or any other race it’s just classic as I previously stated.

12    What’s the size range of your clothing line?

Adult  XS-5x

13.   What message do you want people to get from your line?

That it’s not ok to be like everyone else be rhare dare to be different be your own Waldo.

14.   If you had to choose one piece from your clothing line to represent you, which one would it be?

15.    How hard was it for you to start your own company?

Honestly God has blessed me with a great day to day job so when I met Titus we put our heads together started researching material and in a matter of 7 months we had 3 different looks 3 different designs and we went straight to work.

16.  What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own clothing company?

Sale to strangers not friends.

The Month of April is.....FASHION

Hello Everyone!!!!!!

I love my city as you all know by now, but may people do not know that Detroit have it's own unique style when it comes to fashion. The whole month of April I will be showcasing all the wonderful and homegrown clothing labels and companies that you may not be that familiar with. Starting on the first of April( no joking) I will have interviews and reviews on and about every thing Fashion, Detroit Fashion. Take a seat and enjoy the ride through our fashion.

New Month New Background

Hello Everyone!!!

It is the second day of March 2014!!! In spirit of this month I changed my background once again. Yes, St. Patty's Day is this month on the 17th. I don't partake in this holiday, but I know so many that do. :) As you know from my new year post, I will be changing my background in honor of the month's holiday. Remember on the 8th of the month it is Women's Day! So if you have a special woman in your life show her some love( you should her love every day of the year and not just one or two days). This is a short post, but I just had to show you guys and ladies some love and until next time. *muah*

I know I'm early, but hey it's the thought that count, right? As you can see I changed up the look of my blog just to show you all some love this month. Since I do not have a Valentine this year, I thought I would share with you some Valentine's Day ideas for you and your Valentine.

Make your own Valentine's Day gift. I mean come on who don't like the idea of your lover taking time out to make something specially for you.

Do some dirty dancing. Burn a CD with hot and steamy tunes.  Hint: Pull down your shades before things get too steamy.

Have a picnic indoors. Spread a blanket on the bed with fresh fruit, chocolates, cheese slices, and wine to encourage between-the-sheets action for the night. 

Vamp it up. Buy yourself (or your girl) three new lingerie outfits in totally different styles -- over-the-top, cutesy, and subtly sexy -- and use your shopping spree as an excuse to suggest a before dinner fashion show. 

 Book a hot reservation (at home). While cooking together might be something you do every day, there's no reason it can't be special. The twist: Devise a unique menu that you'll make together every year on Valentine's Day (think: all seafood, or an aphrodisiac theme). Start the tradition now and you'll never have to worry about making last-minute plans in the future.

Get the Zen treatment. Book a couples treatment at a local spa for Valentine's evening. By the time you get home, you’ll be ultra-relaxed for some late-night fun.

Needy Man

I'm sorry you guys! I know it's been a long time since I last post something for you guys, but school just started back and I was busy with that. Here is a little rant about what's been happening to me lately with accordance to guys.

Is it me, or are guys now a days supper needy? When I say guys I am not talking about all men, so fellas relax. I notice that a lot of guys are super needy. When I say needy I mean they always asking "so when am I going to see you?" or my favorite (sike) "when we gone to chill". That is a major turn off to me when guys say this. To me personally, if you want to talk, chill, hang out, or date me you can not ask me this. In my opinion you should make a move to spend time with me. If I am talking to you, you would know my schedule and what time I have free, so try to set something up during that time. You the man, don't make me set up all the dates and meetings.

North American International Auto Show

Hello Everybody!! It's that time of year again. The jewel of the winter for us Detroiters and automobile lovers. Yes!! It's time for the North American International Auto Show! This post is just to give you a little back ground about the show the show starts January 18 through the 26. 

Detroit has hosted an auto show for over a century. For the first few decades of its presence, however, the show's concentration was strictly regional. Then, in 1987, an imaginative group of auto dealers within the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) wonder why the show was not a truly international event. Achieving this objective within only a few years' time, the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) follows a vision of frequently redefining what it means to be an essential international event. New Year = NEW CHANGES

As some of you can see, I changed up my blog background. I came up with the idea to change the background every month. It's important to shake things up every once in a while, right? This year I will be more open and getting back to what my blog originally was started to do. Promote Detroit in a positive light.

This is the last post of the 2013, and it's been a great year for me. I want to thank all of you for the love I have receive here on my blog. I have over 1,700 views, and it's all because of you and I thank you.  2014 is going to be even big and better. I plan with your help and support we can make my blog popular and spread the word about the Good in people and my hometown. With your help and support, I can stay with my diet and be healthier.

Update on me (Weight loss)

I made a post a little time ago about me losing weight and loving myself a little more. I am writing this post to update you on that plan. I admit I fell off track (hey I'm only human), but I am back on track doing my workouts and eating health as possible.

Here are the videos I found on YouTube that helped me to get up to work out. They made me realize you can turn anything into a work out and that the most simple move and give you the most results. Season of Giving

This is the season of giving and with Christmas being only 2 days away, we need to remember it's always better to give than to receive. Even when the holiday season is over, you should never stop giving. Growing up in a city known for its love of the "finer things" in life, or as some would call it "The Home of the Players". It's always nice to see the news talk about people who actually helps the community instead of people who just steal from it. Giving back is a topic that is near and dear to my heart, and I hope to show everyone how important it is to us as human beings.

One day I was watching tv, when I saw a news story about this  group of Detroiters helping people in need. Two local women Jessica Ramirez and Michelle Colon helping who ever need it. They do this all year round not just doing the holiday.  To read more of the news coverage

Sweetwater Tavern

Sweetwater Tavern is a local historical restaurant in our downtown area. Actually Sweetwater Tavern is located in the heart of Detroit’s historic district with roots that goes back to the mid-1800s. First as a hotel, then evolving with the city to become a restaurant and bar, Sweetwater has been known for its authentic homemade food for thirty years. Sweetwater is within walking distance from the major places in Downtown Detroit: the Renaissance Center, Hart Plaza, Ford Field and Comerica Park.  There are three shuttle buses that provide free rides to all Tiger, Lion and Red Wing games, as well as major concert events. Sweetwater has build a reputation over 30 years for its compelling chicken wings. 

I'm be real with you all. I never been to the main location, but I went to the express location. I was with my mom and we was riding down McNichols road (aka 6 mile for my Detroit readers) when she said let's have Sweetwater for dinner. I have heard of Sweetwater, but I didn't know they had an express location. We pull up to the restaurant, and the only thing I do not like is the parking lot. It's way to small and it's only one way in and one way out. We was greeted with big smiles and jolly hello's. The two gentlemen working there was so nice to me and my mom. One of the gentlemen said " you ladies here to try our famous Sweetwater Wings, right?" I said yes. I'm not much of a sauce girl, but when I said no sauce everyone in there looked at me with shock. The work told me to try with the sauce first. Since he worked there I took his advice, and he was right. I love the sauce. The service was great and they treat everyone that comes into the door like family. 

I could go on and on about this place and it's food, but why spoil it for? The next time you hungry and you in Detroit, stop by Sweetwater Tavern or one of their 3 express locations. You won't regret.

What to do with a "pushy" lover?

Hello Everyone!

  I normally do not like to talk about personal business online rather it's mine or someone else.  This post was a request from a friend of mine that wanted all of you to help him with a problem. This is his problem: He is in a strictly sexual relationship with someone, who is more than half his age, older than him. They known each other for a while and been "together" for 6 months. She refuse to accept that they are just "sex buddies" after he had repeatedly told her that he did not have romantic feelings for her and that it was "just sex" for him. She has even confess that she loves him. He told her that he do not feel the same for her, but she not having it, and keeps on referring to him as her boyfriend after he have told her he is not her boyfriend. He have stop her from cooking for him and going out or anything that can be seen as a date. Because of the large age gap many of you may be saying to yourself.."He doing it for the money" which I can tell you that is not the case. He has a job and a college degree, and has always taking care of his own business.

I told him that he should just leave her alone. If they are not on the same page then it is time to cut the cord. Now, he wants to hear from you my lovely readers. Should he cut ties with her or should he get into a relationship that he is being forced into just to be nice to her?  Leave your advice in the comments below.

Un-Deathly Love

 

I am a hopeless romantic. Some one once asked me what kind of relationship am I looking for. I did not know how to describe in words my "perfect" relationship. Then it hit me, I only said "I want to be in love like Morticia and Gomez Addams". They looked at me with confusion in their eyes. It's true, I want my relationship to be like their relationship. No matter if it looks wrong to others it feels right to us. 

 

The love that the Addams family couple has for each other is the most pure you will ever see in Hollywood. They may not be a real couple, but they are the go to for all standards of relationships and marriages. I love how after so many years they still love and lust after each other like it's the first time seeing each other. 

I could go on and on about this couple, but I know I will at a later date,yet until then my friends go and watch the movies and youtube the television show. I see you later darlings. 

World Aids Days

Today is the world Aids Day! I want all of you that are sexually active to go get tested. Not just on the December 1st, but every 3 months. Its important that everyone knows their status no matter what "lifestyle" you live you need to know your status.

More than 1.1 million people in the United States are living with HIV infection, and almost 1 in 5 (18.1%) are unaware of their infection. Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men, particularly young black/African American, are most seriously affected by HIV. By race, blacks/African Americans face the most severe burden of HIV. 

HIV Diagnoses (new diagnoses, regardless of when infection occurred): In 2011, an estimated 49,273 people were diagnosed with HIV infection in the United States. In that same year, an estimated 32,052 people were diagnosed with AIDS. Since the epidemic began, an estimated 1,155,792 people in the United States have been diagnosed with AIDS.

Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men of all races and ethnicities remain the population most profoundly affected by HIV. In 2010, the estimated number of new HIV infections among was 29,800, a significant 12% increase from the 26,700 new infections among in 2008. Although  represent about 4% of the male population in the United States, in 2010, accounted for 78% of new HIV infections among males and 63% of all new infections. Accounted for 52% of all people living with HIV infection in 2009, the most recent year these data are available.

In 2010, white continued to account for the largest number of new HIV infections (11,200), by transmission category, followed closely by black (10,600). The estimated number of new HIV infections was greatest among in the youngest age group. In 2010, the greatest number of new HIV infections (4,800) among occurred in young black/African American aged 13–24. Young black accounted for 45% of new HIV infections among black and 55% of new HIV infections among young overall. Since the epidemic began, an estimated 302,148 with an AIDS diagnosis have died, including an estimated 5,909 in 2010.

Heterosexuals and Injection Drug Users also continue to be affected by HIV. Heterosexuals accounted for 25% of estimated new HIV infections in 2010 and 27% of people living with HIV infection in 2009. Since the epidemic began, almost 85,000 persons with an AIDS diagnosis, infected through heterosexual sex, have died, included an estimated 4,003 in 2010. New HIV infections among women are primarily attributed to heterosexual contact (84% in 2010) or injection drug use (16% in 2010). Women accounted for 20% of estimated new HIV infections in 2010 and 24% of those living with HIV infection in 2009. The 9,500 new infections among women in 2010 reflect a significant 21% decrease from the 12,000 new infections that occurred among this group in 2008. Injection drug users represented 8% of new HIV infections in 2010 and 16% of those living with HIV in 2009. Since the epidemic began, nearly 182,000 injection drug users with an AIDS diagnosis have died, including an estimated 4,218 in 2010.

Thankful!!!

It's that time of the year again! The cold crisp of the air, and the beautiful colored leaves on the ground. The smell of home cooked food full up the house. This time of the year, we all set and share what we are thankful for.

I am thankful for a lot of the same things as you. I'm thankful for my family, friends, a good job, and a warm home to come to everyday. I realize a lot of us even me don't really understand how much we have to be thankful for. I am thankful to have able to share my thoughts with all of you. I am thankful for Glipho for reaching out to me to post some one of my blog post on their site. Don't worry I still post my blog here first. To all my faithful readers I ask that you down in the comments tell me what you are thankful for this year.

Today, the oldest of my little brothers left a comment on one this  "Meme" I post on my facebook. It said:

"Hey sis. Can I give you some advice? You should never make promises you can't keep. Everybody falls. The question is whether or not you get. You may fall, but you better always get back up. Now that is a promise you can keep." 

     I chuckled after I read it because he's right. I re-read what the "Meme" said and I could see how he came to this point.  His comment motivated me to write this post today.

     It's true, we all fall. We all have something in our lives that made us weak or "fall", but no matter how long it takes we always should get up and keep going. There have been many times in my life where I had fell, and double of those times I got back up.

    You should NEVER let something, someone, or even some event stop you from your goals in life. If life gives you a dead end, always look around because there is always a detour sign to help you get to your goal. I know it is hard and easier said than done, but once you see that you met the goal you be so happy that you kept going. The struggle is just that a struggle. Struggles do not last always, but you got to have the strength to over come the struggle, and not let the struggle you been through define who you are and what you do. It's OK for people to see you trip, stumble, and even fall, but it's more important for them to see you get up, dust your self off and keep going. To all my readers, remember you are bigger than what you are going through. You will come through the storm you currently in better and stronger than you was while you was in that storm. keep your head up.

Role Model Couple #3 Bishop J. Drew Sheard and Mrs. Karen Clark Sheard

 

     I am back with couple #3 of my list. I had to show love to a hometown couple. They have two children Kierra Valencia and J. Drew, II. Pastor Bishop J. Drew Sheard and his wife, 4-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, Karen Clark Sheard shows the world how important it is to keep God first in not just a marriage, but in life as a whole. This couple has been together in holy matrimony for 28 years and counting.

   They also have a popular television show on B.E.T called The Sheards. Through their show they show how no matter how popular you are or how much fame you have, that you should always stick close to your roots. The family has deep roots in the church, and they show this on their show. Now-a-days it is rarely shown of a family praying together and walking by faith.

     Out of all the couple on my list, this couple is the one I view and look towards as a guide of how I want my relationship to be. This is the couple that shows that you can have it all and still have a reason to praise God for all of his blessings. I could go on and on about this couple, but why would I do that when you can get a speak peek for yourself by watching their show The Sheards season1 and season 2 coming soon.
