Women are too emotional???

Hello Everyone!!!

I had a very good debate with some friends over the weekend. During this debate, it was brought up that women are too emotional. I do not know if I completely agree with this statement. As a woman, I know I have my moments when I get emotional, or I get too emotionally involve in something and can not let it go when the time comes for me to move on. Too emotional, I would not say that I am. Before anyone state I must been talking to a group of guys, I was not, it was a only one guy and he disagree with the statement. Then it was brought up that we was having the same debate as the leading women of Bravo's new reality series Blood, Sweat, and Heels. I heard of the show, but have not watched. I was so wrapped into this topic I went on to YouTube to pull up a clip of the show. I could not believe what I was heard. Do not get it wrong, everybody have the right to say or feel what they please. I just could not understand how women with that much power can say those things. Plus one of the ladies stated that she did not like bloggers and start to describe us(bloggers) as over weight and not taking care of themselves. I did take offense to that because I am new blogger and I am what many would call over weight, but I do take care of myself. I will not dive into the show because this post is not about the show or it's stars.

Personally, I think that women use their emotional to push them in life. I know I do. Negative leads to Positive in my book. It's just so funny how people look at emotions as a bad thing. They are not a bad thing. I believe women can be strong and emotional, but what do you think?

Role Model Couple #4 Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka

It's time for couple number #4!!!! I know it may comes to a shock to some of my new readers, but I am a support of Gay Rights. I have express my thoughts on the topic in an earlier post. I feel that Neil Patrick Harris and his Husband David Burtka are a great role model couple not just for the LGBT community but for everyone no matter what. They may be different than the other couples on my list, but they are the same as them too. They are the traditional family that we grew up seeing on TV and in movies the only difference is its two daddies.

Neil Patrick Harris is an American actor, producer, singer, and director. He is best known for the title role in Doogie Howser, M.D., the womanizing Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, a fictionalized version of himself in the Harold & Kumar series, and the title role in Joss Whedon's musical web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.
Harris was named as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2010, and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2011. Harris has also hosted the Tony Awards on Broadway in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Harris confirmed that he is gay in November 2006 by saying,
"I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love."
Harris attended the Emmy awards in  2007 with his fiance David Burtka, later confirming the relationship, which he said began in 2004, in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

On August 14, 2010, Harris announced that he and Burtka were expecting twins via a surrogate mother. The  twins Gideon Scott, a boy, and Harper Grace, a girl, were born in 2010.
Following the passage of the Marriage Equality Act in New York on June 24, 2011, Harris and Burtka announced their engagement via Twitter, stating that they had proposed to each other five years earlier but kept the engagement secret until same-sex marriage became legal.

Travyon Martin

I know this picture has been all over facebook and instagram. I just had to put my two cents on it. I don't want to sound racist, but here it go again people making fun of something so serious in the black community and the country. The fact that this girl (picture in the middle) had the balls to post this on her social media page just upset me. How can you think this is OK? I would you feel if that was your family member and for Halloween people made from of your tragedy? The issue of black face has been around for years. A lot of young people do not know this but it was a time when black people had to perform in black face just like their white counterpart. I just think that this picture is disgusting and in poor taste. I feel like now-a-day people are not trying to see it from our (black community) point of view.

I am call for all my youth to speak out against this mistreatment of the legacy of Travyon Martin! Do not let people think that this funny or OK to do. It is not funny or a joke. That young man was gun down like a animal for no reason, and for you to make fun or light of it is a dis-Justice. Enough is Enough!!!! Just because the justice system fail us do not mean black people give up the fight. NO!! arm your self with education. Learn about your history..ALL OF IT. Learn the working of your government, and fight to change the way we are viewed in the country and the world. I'm tired of seeing my people just go with the flow..its time for us to be the true leaders we was born to be.

LGBT FRATERNITITES

I saw something on Tumblr today that really had me thinking. It was a post about having more Christian and LGBT fraternities on college campuses. As a college students, I see Christian fraternities a lot, but my question is this How will the rest of the fraternities on campus feel about having openly express and showing LGBT fraternities on their "yard"? I am not dumb to the fact that there are some LGBT fraternities out here and you may be walking by a member of one with out knowing it.

The reason I post this question is this: We all know how much hate is shown towards the LGBT community. Now with fraternities out in the open, where they should be because no one should have to hide or a group should not have to hide, wouldn't that cause more hate crimes on College campuses? Like I said in my previous posts about this topic, I do not care who you love just as long as they are respecting you and giving you the same love back as you giving to them. I think that there are still a lot of work that needs to be done against the bad stigma of the LGBT community before we can go to next step as in fraternities. I have many gay and lesbian friends and I do not want them to be shun or hurt because they joined a LGBT fraternities. TO BE FRANK... we need more work as a whole. More understanding and peace between us as humans before we can truly say we have made a difference in this world. I think it be a good idea to have the LGBT fraternities bond and build a friendship with the Black fraternities since at one point they were kept off college campus and had to fight from their own piece of the pie. what do you think?

Are Ladies the new "MAN" now?

Everyone who knows me know that I am a very simple girl. The most simple things can bring a smile to my face and joy in my heart. With that being said, its also known that I dream big and go for those said dreams. I work hard to make my dreams come true, and help as many people as I can along the way. Due to this "go getta" attitude I have, a love life is hard to have.

I notice every guy I date complain that I don't have time for them. This is funny to me because I tell them all at the beginning all the things I do and want to achieve in life. Now, they are acting like little babies. Don't get it wrong, I love that a guy wants to be with me, but when it gets to the point it seems like you just free all the time because you always call or texting me. That's a big problem. I remembered a time when girls use to have to beg for a guy to spend time with them, now it's the other way around.

I don't know what it is. It seems like guys in my generation(i mean most guys not all) have no dreams, goals, and future plans. Once they come around a woman with goals, she is doing everything she can to make those dreams come true... all of a sudden she "stuck up" or "playing games" what's up with that? Don't you guys want that in a woman? I'm just saying. A woman that's strong enough to stand on her own beside you, strong enough to "pick up the tab" some times, and woman that can be your lover, friend, and most of all your support system. Now, when I say support system, I mean someone who helps you up when life kicks you down, some one who keeps you on the track to YOUR dream and not the dream you think that would impress her, and someone to just keep you motives you to go father than your current normal.

I just don't get it. I'm not saying that guys don't have the same issues with us ladies because they do. I'm speaking from what I see. Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to hear from you. Leave your comments and thoughts on this topic. Fellas tell me what you are looking for in a partner and same thing goes to you too ladies.

WHAT GROUP DO YOU BELONG TO??

Am I the only one who wonders why we are friends with certain people and not others? I notice today that the world is set up like the fictional high schools in the 90's movies I use to watch. Even in college, jocks sit and hang out with jocks and the list goes on. Myself, I do not fit any one special group. I like to do my own thing. I even notice teachers would treat you different if you fit in a certain group or not. I always find this to funny.  I Never knew that belonging to certain groups and stereotypes was a big deal in this country or world.

I am not the "normal" girl. I like wrestling and cartoons. I can also make a sailor blush with the way I talk. I see how I don't get the same respect from my male counterparts as my more "feminine" friends. I think that is crazy. Just because I don't wear tight clothes, high heels, go clubbing every night, and twerk on every guy I see don't make me any less than a woman. Treat us all the same!!!!!!!!! I learn to do things on my own because over the years guys showed me that because I am the " home girl" or their buddy I don't get the helping hand from them. I learn to open my own doors, cut my own grass, figure out whats wrong with my car, and to protect myself when I walk late at night.

Fellas, if you see a woman is walking behind you, no matter how she is dress or looks hold the door for her. Let her feel like a woman for just a mere second, since the rest of the world wont let her have that respect. I have male friend that hates to see me open a door. Like I told him, no man ever do it for me so I just learn to do it for myself. This ties to my post from yesterday, its all about self worth. I guess you can I lost a lot of it over the years, and I am finally gaining it back.

All and All today was a good day. Just remember if you having a bad day, change your thoughts and your day will change. In other words, think of good things and good things will come to you. REACH FOR THE SKY THEN ONCE YOU REACH IT...MOVE ON TO THE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Standing on the Soap box for Detroit

The last few months, I have made post regarding all that is positive and good in my home state and hometown. I started this blog to get the word out to young people like myself and even to people that are older than me, that the state of Michigan is not for “old people” or “retired auto workers” that there are great things to do in Michigan that people can have fun doing. I also started this blog to show the world that Detroit is not a city full of “thugs, robbers, killers, rapist, etc.” Yes, there is crime here in the city of Detroit, but we are a large city and crime everywhere not just in Detroit, but in your own neighborhoods. Detroit is a city full of history. History in music and national history. Did you know that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave the famous I have a Dream speech first in Detroit? Yes, right here.

I am very passionate about my hometown. I cannot believe the media treats us (Detroit) as if we are some war torn country. This is the place that built the car you are driving in, yet you swipe us down like flies ruining your picnic. I do not hide the fact that there is crime in my city every day, or there are cold cases that may never get solved, yet that’s all the media, older generation of Detroit citizens see and talk about. How about the youth that’s trying to make the city better, and the people who trying to show the good in the city?

All I ask is this simple, unpretentious, and meek demand of you, my readers, followers, friends, and family. Before, you start to point your nose down on the city of Detroit or the state of Michigan as yourself these questions: Is this happening in my city or state? Would I be hurt or insult maybe even offended if this was said about my hometown or state? Are they truly trying to fix their problem?  Before you speak, type or record your transgress insult about Michigan, Detroit, OR our citizens please do remember that for every bad or negative thing you say about us, we can say about you too, yet we are more responsible, stable, considered, adult, and most important we are more established group of people not to point out your defects, failings, imperfections, weaknesses. I would go on and on about this topic But I wait to hear from you my readers and see what you think about this before I continue. Until then my loves, speak positive and live what you say.

The Mrs. Carter Show, Detroit Dedication

Even Beyonce , Mrs Carter herself can see nothing can stop us.  Start doing things to change the problem and push on. Don't sit and whine about what's wrong or who is in office or  who have the power of the city. If you don't like it change it!  As my dad use to tell me " someone made it off the boat, someone made it off the plantation, so no matter what you come up against there is no reason for you not making it" I love my home town and I started this blog because I became tired of seeing negative reports about Detroit in Detroit and on the national scale. I understand the city have major issues that need to be taken care of in the best way possible, but all the killing, attacks, and stealing have to stop. This blog is to uplift my city and bring light to the good and positive things that are here in Detroit. Detroit help build this country car by car, so don't let this city go down in ruins. I'm doing my part by showing all the good in the city. Mark Wahlberg have an interview on a late night showing saying how he had to convince his wife to come and vacation here, and the only reason she didn't want to come is because of what she heard about us on the news. He got her to come and she enjoy her time here. People, yes we have crime and money issues, but name one city or state in this country that do not have the same problems or worst. I say this to say I love my hometown. Detroit made me and now it's time to remake Detroit
